+ MISSION STATEMENT

To develop harmony between nature and the built environment, creating healthy human habitats while restoring biodiversity to natural ecosystems.

+ VISION

To reimagine the current model for residential development by designing new or retrofitting existing, rural and urban environments, into resilient, self-sustaining, regenerative communities.

ABOUT

The vision for RRC, Renewal Regenerative Communities, came about in the early 2000’s as I began to study and refocus my career towards sustainable design. I could now combine my personal desire for a healthy lifestyle with my passion for architecture and design. I had envisioned creating self-sustaining communities that were multicultural and multi-generational with options for permanent, short and extended-stay residency.

Continuing down the path of sustainability, I was inspired by and studied eco-village design, permaculture and most recently ecosystem restoration. By incorporating all of the various philosophies, developments could be designed and built in harmony with the natural environment, restoring and regenerating the land simultaneously.

Working on residential projects over the years, it seemed to me that creating a development that offered not only the housing, but a vegetable garden as part of the package would make so much sense…hence, the idea for Food + Shelter began. This concept is to develop this model with options for one residence or an entire community. With the conditions of our social, economic and environmental issues at stake, getting “Back to the Garden” is our best solution.

LA LIBERTAD is the first prototype to be offered. I first traveled to this area of Mexico on a yoga/surf retreat and loved the people, the culture, the beaches, etc. Before making my most recent trip, I consulted with a realtor and builder and discussed the plan for the community. Once there, it wasn’t long before l found this beautiful spot not far from one of my favorite beaches.
